Last week, the Whittier home she's lived in since 1967 was decorated in festive greens to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. But to mark her 102nd birthday on March 13, Mellin needed only to surround herself with friends and family. The centenarian shared a dinner party with other March birthday celebrants in her family, including her daughter Martha and two granddaughters, Kristin and Lisa.
